Uluguru Udzungwa Mikumi Mountain SafarisExperience the thrill of a Tanzania safari holiday in southern Tanzania’s national parks. Combine the intriguing Uluguru and Udzungwa Mountains famed for their rainforests, birdlife and peak after peak of lulling green tops with the well-known Mikumi National Park; famed for its population of elephants, lions, giraffe, buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater Kudu among many others. Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Morogoro

Transfer to Morogoro; arrive in the afternoon in time for a hot lunch and leisure in Morogoro. Dinner and overnight at Makongo Cottages and Flame Tree in Mbuyuni Farm Retreat Kimango.

Day 2: Uluguru Mountains trekking

Early morning, around 6:00 am transfer by car to Towero village (approx. 30 minutes’ drive). From Towero through the slopes of Uluguru Mountain to Ruvuma, hike to the Morningside village; from this point you can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Morogoro town. Rest at the Morninside House, it was used as a resort during the colonial times; enjoy a picnic lunch.  Proceed to the Uluguru North catchment forest reserve, an hour’s hike up the mountain along the winding road and steep farmland trails remnant of indigenous forest; the forest is home to monkeys and birds. Late afternoon, descend to Towero village, board the car and return to Makongo Cottages and Flame Tree in Mbuyuni Farm Retreat Kimango for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, depart for a full day wildlife Safari in Mikumi national park, visit the Mkata Chamgore (place of the python) and Mkata Food Plain, these are areas rich in game. Enjoy a hot lunch at Mikumi Wildlife Camp; proceed with the game drive till late evening. Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Wildlife Camp.

Day 4: Udzungwa Mountains

Transfer to Udzungwa Mountains for a full day hiking through the tropical green forest to Sanje waterfalls. Udzungwa national park has been dubbed the African Galapagos for its treasure-trove of endemic plants and animals. Expect to see monkeys, including the rare Iringa red Colobus and some very long and old trees; some more than 200 years old. You can also see a variety of birds and beautiful butterflies. Relax at the Sanje waterfalls and take a swim. Overnight at XXX Campsite near the water falls.

Day 5: Udzungwa – Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, descend to the Ranger Post where you will meet you waiting driver for the transfer back to Dar es Salaam; we will stop for a hot lunch along the way.{tab Pricing and Inclusion}{/tabs}
